Local author, Josefina Cabello- My second book “Emily en Tennessee and Emilia in Guayaquil” is a bilingual story about two cousins in two countries. Soon, they will find out they share not only the same name, but multiple traditions too.
Just like my first bilingual book, this story was created after I saw a need. I wanted to find a book about traditions and the cultural heritage from my hometown, Guayaquil.
Most of the books I found about weather and seasons didn’t tell the story of other cities, with their own weather and seasonal activities. I wanted to capture the contrast between the city where I was born and raised, and the state that has been my home in these past years in the United States.
